Regular Meeting

​January 9, 2025

CALL TO ORDER
Meeting called to order at 7:05 by Club President Fred Guyette. The meeting opened with the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag and a moment of silence for those protecting our borders and security. There were Eighteen (18) members present including eleven (11) officers and committee chairs.
 
Meeting Minutes for the December 2024  Regular Meeting                    
The Secretary’s meeting minutes of December, 2024 were read by Secretary Jim E. Mayers.
There was a motion to approve by Ron Walter and 2nd by Ken Matthews.  There was one add to the December minutes. Fred wanted the 75” TV added for the Gun Bingo for a “Buy-In” give away. All approved.
 
TREASURER’S REPORT
The Treasurers report for December, 2024 was read by Treasurer Lori Raub.  There was a motion by Tom Blackman and 2nd by Bob Tucker to approve the Treasurers report. All approved.

STANDING COMMITTEES:
 
ARCHERY   (Officer – Matt Forba)  
Matt noted all is quiet this time of year.
Fred noted that the “Indoor Winter Archery” will commence next week.
 
 TRAP   (Officer Fred Guyette)
Open Trap on Friday nights is ongoing.
Fred also noted that he has raffle tickets for our Twelve Gun Raffle. He also has tickets available for the Gun Bingo events
Income for Trap for December 8th $90.00, Dec 13th $165.00, Dec.17th $48.00, Dec 20th $130.00, Dec 27th $155.00, Jan 3 $205.00 December Total Trap $793.00
 
Income for Skeet for December 20th $36.00, Dec. 27th $145.00, Dec 31st $84.00 December Total Income for Skeet $256.00.
 
 12 Gauge shells are available to club members at $90.00 per 10 box case. Income from shells $360.00
The Winter Trap League is now in the 2nd week Fifteen dollars ($15.00 signup) then Fifteen ($15.00) per week. There is still room for more trap shooters to join in the fun.
 
Silver Lake Rod & Gun Club is looking for a second team for the County League.
 
 INDOOR RANGE   (Officer Tom Blackman)
Tom noted that he turned in $43.00 from the range fee box.
It was noted that SporteRifle is now in the 14th week (match) of a scheduled 21 match schedule. Silver Lake Rod & Gun Club record to date is 5 wins and 9 losses.
 
Buildings & Grounds   (Officer Ron Walter)  
Ron stated he has “No bitches”
It was noted that we will be changing propane suppliers. We are dropping Hinds and going to Superior for a substantial saving in the cost of propane. Fred thanked Ron for all the work he does keeping the driveway, parking areas and the trap fields cleared from the snow.
 
Outdoor Shooting Sports   (Officer Jack Revie)
Jack not in attendance.
Bob Tucker noted that someone continues to shoot at and destroying the clips and hangers at the 100 yard range. It was further noted that every member be alert to anyone intentionally damaging Club property to notify any Club officer or Director as to who the individual(s) are.
 
PFSC (Delegate Mike DePaola)
Mike not in attendance. No report.
    
12- GUN RAFFLE   (Chairman Fred Guyette)
The January 2025 winner is Ed Nichols, 21670 SR 167 Brackney, PA . The winning ticket # 185. Ed won Ruger 10/22
The 2025-2026 Twelve Gun Raffle tickets are now available.
 
SUPPLIES (Chairperson Reggie Raynor)
Reggie not in attendance. Call Reggie if there is any supplies needed.

OLD BUSINESS 
Reminder; we have an ongoing bottle and can drive. Bottles and cans may be left in the shed next to the clubhouse. All proceeds are donated to Leukemia Cancer Research.
We will be changing propane suppliers from Hinds to Superior.
 
Tom Blackman will be the Election Chairman for the Annual Dinner. Tom has interviewed the Incumbent Officers and Committee members regarding their willingness to seek reelection.
All have responded that they are willing to serve another term.
 
Gun Bingo is scheduled for Saturday January 18th at Tall Pines Players Club.
Gun Bingo (Pistols) is scheduled for March 8th at Tall Pines Players Club. 
 
 NEW BUSINESS
 
Zeb has secured a price quote from Marshall Machinery to provide a 6’ hydraulic angle blade plus a 3rd function hydraulic kit, a 6’ back blade, rear  tire chains and wheel spacers.
Also a price was included for a tractor mounted snow blower. Waiting for another price quote from Timberline for the same equipment.
 
Fred noted that he has purchased two 75” Smart TVs to be used for the Gun Bingo events. When each event ends, the TV utilized will be won in a Buy-In Bingo. 
 
The Club will be providing the meat for the Annual Dinner. We have three (3) pork loins.
Jim E.Mayers to fry a turkey. We will also provide salt potatoes, corn, beans, drinks etc.
We need raffle baskets.

 ATTENDANCE  POOL
The name drawn for the January attendance pool was none other than Lori Raub.  
 
ADJOURNMENT  
With no further business to discuss, the meeting was adjourned at 7:55
 
Committee Meeting following the regular meeting adjournment to review the two new membership applications as noted above. Both applications were reviewed and approved.
It was noted that there will be a Gun Bingo meeting for those working the event on January 16th.
