Eighty Forth Annual Dinner and
ANNUAL MEETING
Call to Order:
Meeting called to order at 1:50 PM by President Bob Kuhn. Pledge of Allegiance and moment of silence for all those protecting our security preceded the roll call of the members present.
Roll Call:
The Secretary stated that fourteen (14) Committee members/Officers and
47 Regular and Lifetime Members had signed in. This exceeds the necessary membership requirements to hold the Annual Meeting and election of new Officers and Directors. Therefore, no roll call of members is required.
Member Recognition for Service to the Club
Bob Kuhn noted the Silver Lake Rod & Gun Club’s thanks to Tom Oleniacz for the twelve years of dedicated service to the club as the Archery Range Officer.
Bob also recognized Tom & Patty Blackman for their dedication to training ladies to handle and the safe use of hand guns. They have held two sessions to date and have another scheduled. For more information see the club website.
Bob also thanked the Building & grounds sub-committee for their dedication and hard work to develop the addition to the trap lounge. Fred Guyette, Jack Raynor, Ron Walter, Dave Shaffer were each presented a Silver Lake Rod & Gun Club sweatshirt.
MINUTES OF THE LAST REGULAR MEETING and Committee Meeting
The Minutes of the last Regular Meeting of December 10, 2015, 2015 was read and approved on a motion by Mike DePaola and 2nd by Tom Hohn. Motion carried and approved.
The minutes of the last Committee Meeting held on December 17, 2015 were read and approved on a motion by Dave Shaffer and 2nd by Mike DePaola.
Treasurer Report:
A Financial Report for the 2015-year was read and explained by Treasurer Bette VanWinkle. The report is attached to the official meeting minutes
The report was approved on a motion by Dave Shaffer and 2nd by Mike DePaola. Motion carried and approved.
Standing Committee Reports:
Archery: Officer Tom Oleniacz
Tom was unable to attend but had provided a summary report at the December 10th meeting. Tom has retired as the Archery Chairman.
The Winter Indoor Archery is now into the 2nd week. All are welcome to join. The cost is $5.00 per week (12 week league) or $50.00 paid by the 3rd week.
Trap: Officer Fred Guyette
The Friday night open trap continues. The winter trap league to commence soon. Check with Fred or Norm McPherson for details.
Fred noted that all shooting sports are seeing fewer shooters.
Fred noted that the annual Roger Everitt Memorial Shoot went very well again this year, as did the Fall Meat Shoot.
A trailer load of clay birds were purchased this year.
The Susquehanna County Trap League will start the end of March and conclude the end of June. Silver Lake Rod & Gun Clun normally has two teams. The Club pays for the teams. Anyone interested see Fred or Norm.
Indoor Range: Officer Sam Williamson
Sam noted the Sporter Rifle League is now into the 12th week of a 21 week season. The normal night to shoot is Wednesday but makeups can be shot at any time.
SASS: Officer Jack Revie
Jack noted that the SASS league is hibernating for the winter but will resume on the 3rd Sunday in April. Jack noted that they averaged about 24 shooters per month. Everyone is invited to shoot or watch and can join in on a free lunch.
Buildings and Grounds: Officer Ron Walter
Ron unable to attend, no report.
PFSC: Mike DePaola, chairman,
PFSC had a good year. Mike noted that he was elected as the Susquehanna County President. A check was sent to Silver Lake Rod & Gun Club for the clubs participation in the PFSC gun raffle.
Ed Smith noted that there are important items on the Silver Lake Rod & Gun Club website pertaining to PFSC regarding proposed draconian gun legislation our esteemed governor is proposing.
New Appointments
Bob Kuhn noted that he has appointed Dennis States as the Rifle Range Officer.
Bob also noted that Paul Almy has volunteered to take over the duties of Dennis Byerly as the new Membership Chairman.

Ed Smith nominated Bob Kuhn for President. Motion 2nd by Tom Blackman. There were no further nominations from the floor. Motion by Jack Revie to close the nomination, 2nd by Mike DePaola. Motion carried. Secretary Jim Mayers cast one vote for Bob Kuhn. Bob elected as Club President for 2016.

Ed Smith nominated Dan Hungerford for Vice President. Motion 2nd by Dave Shaffer. There were no further nominations from the floor. Motion by Jack Revie to close the nominations. Motion 2nd by Dave Shaffer. Motion carried. Secretary Jim Mayers cast one vote for Dan Hungerford for Vice President. Dan Hungerford is elected as Vice President of the Club for 2016

Ed Smith nominated Jim Mayers for Club Secretary. Motion 2nd by Bob Kuhn. There were no further nominations from the floor. Motion by Bob Kuhn to close the nominations, 2nd by Mike Elsner. Motion approved. Bob Kuhn cast one vote for Jim Mayers as Club Secretary. Jim Mayers is elected as Club Secretary for 2016.

Dave Shaffer nominated Bette VanWinkle for Club Treasurer. Motion 2nd by Mike Elsner. There were no further nominations from the floor. Motion by Bob Kuhn to close the nominations, 2nd by Jack Revie. Motion carried. Secretary Jim Mayers cast one vote for Bette VanWinkle as Club Treasurer. Bette VanWinkle is elected as Club Treasurer for 2016.

Dave Shaffer nominated Mike DePaola for PFSC Representative, motion 2nd by Ed Smith. There were no further nominations from the floor. Motion by Jack Revie to close the nominations, motion 2nd by Bob Kuhn. Motion carried. Secretary Jim Mayers cast one vote for Mike DePaola for PFSC Representative. Mike DePaola is elected as PFSC Representative for SLR&G Club for 2016.
Nominations for Directors for years 2016 and 2017:
It was noted that the terms of Jack Raynor, Dennis Byerly, Dave Shaffer and Ken Matthews is expired as of today January 10, 2016. All but Ken Matthews have agreed to allow their names to be nominated for the same position for 2016.
Tom Blackman nominated Jack Raynor for Director, motion 2nd by Dave Shaffer.
Dick Leavenworth Nominated Dennis Byerly for Director, motion 2nd by Tom Blackman.
Bob Kuhn nominated Dave Shaffer for Director, motion 2nd by Jim Mayers.
Ken Matthews nominated Jack Legg as director, 2nd Jim Mayers.
There were no further nominations from the floor. Motion by Bob Kuhn to close the nominations for Directors. Motion Carried
Jack Raynor, Dennis Byerly, Dave Shaffer and Jack Legg are elected as Directed for 2016 and 2017.
This concludes the election of Officers and Directors for 2016 (2017) and congratulations to each for assuming these Club responsibilities.
Door prize winners and Raffle Winners:
The Secretary apologizes to each and every donor and provider of the raffle items and beautiful baskets that were brought in to provide funds for the club. Due to a misunderstanding and miss-communication, none of the providers names nor winners names were recorded.
Youth Raffle
3rd place scope was won by Paul Almy
2nd place Jordan Parsons won a brick of 22 ammo.
1st place Ian Jacobs won a youth model 22.
Annual Dinner Gun Raffle
3rd place Paul Almy won a nice scope.
2nd place Marcia Pontiero won two bags of bird shot.
1st place Sam Williamson won a beautiful 308 cal. Rifle w/scope.
Fifty Fifty Winners
The amount of money collected was $318.00. It was determined to have three 50-50 winners. Tom and Patty Blackman did an outstanding job of going around selling the 50-50 tickets.
(As a side note, if I had not been the person selected to draw the names, I would have thought something was fishy.)
