There are several announcements I’d like to make on behalf of the Silver Lake Rod and Gun Club, as both a member and the Archery Chair:
On Sunday September 27, 2020, we completed a short and very productive workday by collecting and putting away all our 3D Archery targets for the year/winter.  Because of all the volunteer help, we did it in under an hour! I want to thank the following individuals for their time and effort:
Luke Foster
Jason Shilinski
Rich Rigotti
Jerry Cronk
Ron Havens
Ron Hollenbeck
Chris McComb
Tom Oleniacz
Ned Birchard
Mark Brennan
Eric Brennan

My apologies to whomever I omitted from the list but these are the names I either remembered as being there or was reminded of, as being there.  I hope to get it 100% correct when we reassemble, next spring, to set-up the course again.

NOTE:  To qualify as a champion in any/all classes, the following prerequisite must be met.

Shooters must participate in a minimum of three (3) SLR&GC tournaments.
The best three (3) scores over the season will be averaged to calculate a score out of a possible 300.
All X’s are cumulative and will be utilized as potential tie breakers.

Although we nearly had qualifiers in each class, “Men’s Hunter” was the only class to turnout shooters meeting the necessary prerequisite.

The 2020, Silver Lake Rod and Gun Club, 3D Archery Champion:

CHAMPION
Tom Oleniacz – 285, 25X

RUNNER-UP
David Fazio – 267, 7X

THANK YOU to everyone that supported our efforts this past season by coming out to participate.  I/we look forward to next season and hope to grow the fun, participation and competition.

Stay safe and healthy.

The following results from the July 5th 3D Archery Tournament are based on scores turned in. (please note that some participants do not keep score)
We had our second 3D Shoot of the season today; 16 shooters made it out to the club today to participate in the camaraderie and in support of our efforts.  These are the results:

Men's Hunter Class:
1st place - Tom Oleniacz  285 8X
2nd place - Chris Oleniacz  284 11X
3rd place - Robert Burnett  284 3X

Women's Hunter Class:
1st place - Tanya Oleniacz  231  2X

Youth Class (11 yoa and younger)
1st place - Tessa Oleniacz  179  0X

Junior Class (12-15 years)
1st place - Blaine Burnett  248  4X

Congratulations to all participants.  As evidenced by today's results, one had to outscore either an Oleniacz or Burnett to,"take the prize".

Note: Our regular/monthly group in the recurve/longbow class don't typically  register their scores but neither deny nor confirm a perfect 300 following each outing.  Along those same lines, not all shooters, regardless of class, turn-in a score card.

Respectfully submitted,
Jim Mayers II
Archery Chair

The following results from the August 2nd 3D Archery Tournament are based on scores turned in. (please note that some participants do not keep score)

Ron Hollenbeck, Bud Hutchings, and Jerry Cronk came to shoot the course, as they do every month in support of our efforts. Although they don't usually return a score card, they are among our most ardent supporters.

We thank them.

Our final 3D Archery Tournament of the season was held at the Silver Lake Rod and Gun Club last Sunday, September 6, 2020.  We had our best turnout of the season with 34 participating shooters.  I want to thank and congratulate all our participants and supporters throughout the 2020 season.

Note:  As noted in the past, a number of shooters, by choice, either didn't  record their scores or turn-in a score card or both.  We appreciate their support, friendship and loyalty to the Club and our efforts; Thank You.

Some important notes:

Since the 3D Season has concluded, the time has come to put away all our targets.  I'm asking for assistance, from anyone interested, to participate in this task on Sunday morning, September 26th starting at 8:30 AM; "many hands make light work".  I hope to see you there.

I will be posting a list of all shooting class winners from the first to the last shoot this year.  I have prizes coming and want to be sure everyone receives the prize he/she won.

A final note to stay tuned for, will be the announcement of our, 3D Archery, Club Champion Shooter(s)...

To qualify as a class champion this year and moving forward are the following prerequisites:

- A minimum of Three (3) shoots have to be recorded.
- The average of one's top 3 scores will be calculated as a single score.
-Every X throughout the season will accumulate into a grand total of X's as part of the final score and will be utilized as a possible tie breaker if needed to determine a champion.

Good Luck to all throughout the upcoming hunting seasons, stay safe and healthy.  I/we look forward to seeing you again.

Respectfully,

Jim Mayers II
