Regular Meeting
April 9, 2015
CALL TO ORDER
7:07 PM by Club President Bob Kuhn. The meeting opened with Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag and moment of silence for those protecting our security. There were 31 members present including 11 Officers and committee members.
Secretary Meeting Minutes for February
The Secretary’s meeting minutes of March 12, 2015 were read and approved on a motion by Mike DePaola and 2nd by Roger Marsh, with two deletions, delete the words “Annual Dinner Meeting” under Secretary Meeting Minutes” and delete the paragraph under New Business that starts with “It was noted that Chris McComb”, this was inadvertently left in from the previous meeting.
TREASURER’S REPORT
The March Treasurer’s Report was read by Zach VanWinkle, pinch hitting for Bette VanWinkle, and approved on a motion by Mike DePaola and 2nd by Dennis Byerly.
The March Regular checking account balance is $1,361.20.
The Discipline Saving Account balance is $204.36
The Youth Account balance is $3,335.77
The Savings Account balance is $9,799.72
American Funds (CD) balance $49,284.75
STANDING COMMITTEES:
ARCHERY (Officer Tom Oleniacz,)
Tom noted the Winter Archery League has concluded and we will have a Fish Fry on Saturday April 11, 2015. All are welcome.
Tom noted the first 3D shoot is scheduled for Sunday May 3rd. The 2nd 3D Shoot will be held on Sunday May 31 due to the Roger Everitt Memorial Shoot.
Tom also noted the need for volunteers to help for kitchen and registration for the remaining shoots this summer.
TRAP (Officer Fred Guyette)
(Fred not in attendance.)
Norm McPherson noted that the first ATA shoot will be on April 13th. There are 10 ATA shoots scheduled. Check the club web page for dates.
Monday and Friday shoots are back on schedule.
INDOOR RANGE (Officer Sam Williamson)
Sam called in sick, no report.
GROUNDS/BUILDINGS (Officer Ron Walter)
Ron not in attendance. It was noted that the combinations have been changed to the current year.
SINGLE ACTION SHOOTING SPORTS (Officer Jack Revie)
Jack not in attendance still recovering from surgery.
Dave Shaffer noted that a SASS workday is scheduled for Saturday April 11 and the first shoot is scheduled for Sunday April 19th.
PFSC (Delegate Mike DePaola)
It was noted that Ed Smith took notes at the last meeting. It was further noted that Ed has put up a PFSC link on the Club Website.
A PFSC banquet is scheduled for Saturday May 30th at New Milford. Tickets are $15.00 each and $25.00 per couple. There is a need for donations for raffles.

12- GUN RAFFLE (Chairman Karl Eschbach)
It was noted that all raffle tickets are out and need to be returned by the next meeting (May)
The April 2015 gun winner is Bill Barrows, 160 ½ Gaylord St. Binghamton, NY 607-727-9095. The winning ticket number was #384. Bill won a Ruger American 270 rifle

Jack noted all ok.
INTERNET WEB SITE (Chairman Ed Smith)
Ed Smith noted that the new site up and running and is encouraging everyone to check it out.
The new website address is www.silverlakerodandgunclub.com.
Ed now has a link to a PFSC page on the club website.
KITCHEN_ (Chairman Dan Hungerford)
Dan noted all ok.
OLD BUSINESS
Ed Smith noted that he has a price quote for new signs for SASS. Plastic signs are quite expensive. Ed will continue looking for more quotes. (remains from last month)
NEW BUSINESS
The Spring Work Day will be on Saturday April 25th. Breakfast will be served from 7:00 AM
until 8:00 AM. Work to commence at 8:00 AM.
The Susquehanna Trap League will have a trap shoot at Silver Lake Rod & Gun Club on April 12th
It was noted that Silver Lake Rod & Gun Club now has two teams. A motion was made by Dave
Shaffer and 2nd by Jack Raynor that the Club would sponsor both teams at $50.00 per team. All
approved.
Ken Barnes inquired whether Silver Lake Rod & Gun Club intends to purchase a
Barrel–O–Bucks ticket. A motion was made by Dennis States and 2nd by Dave Byerly that Silver
Lake Rod & Cun Club purchase a ticket for $100.00. All approved.
There was one new membership application to review as follows; David Sarkisian 2640
Lynnhurst Drive, Vestal, NY Sponsor Paul Almy. There were no comments from the floor.
It was noted via Zach that Bette will require a paid receipt prior to reimbursement.
It was noted that Jim Mayers will send out a Spring Work Day Notice via email. A Spring
Newsletter will be put on the Club web page.
ATTENDANCE POOL
The name drawn for the April attendance pool was Floyd VanWinkle. Sadly Rip and Bette were playing hookey and were not in attendance.
The May attendance pool will be worth $61.00.
ADJOURNMENT
With no further business to discuss, the meeting was adjourned at 7:50 PM on a motion by Dave Shaffer.
Committee Meeting
There were eleven (11) officers and committee members in attendance. There was one (1) new member application as noted above. All approved.
A new power pole is needed for the club. Jack Raynor made a motion to have a new electric pole installed for $211.11, 2nd by Tom Oleniacz. All approved.
