Regular Meeting
February 12, 2015
CALL TO ORDER
7:15 PM by Club President Bob Kuhn. The meeting opened with Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag and moment of silence for those protecting our security. There were 19 members present including 12 Officers and committee members and two guests.
Secretary Meeting Minutes for January
The Secretary’s meeting minutes of January 11, 2015 Annual Dinner Meeting were read and approved on a motion by Mike DePaola and 2nd by Roger Marsh.
TREASURER’S REPORT
The January Treasurer’s Report was read and approved on a motion by Mike DePaola and 2nd by Fred Guyette.
The January Regular checking account balance is $3,009.07
The Discipline Saving Account balance is $5,049.18
The Youth Account balance is $3,835.77
The Savings Account balance is $5,199.35
American Funds (CD) balance $49,284.75
STANDING COMMITTEES:
ARCHERY (Officer Tom Oleniacz,)
Tom noted that the Winter Archery League started on Tuesday January 6, 2015 and is in the 6th week of 12 weeks. All are welcome to join in.
Tom noted the 3D shoots will start back up again on the 1st Sunday of May. The 2nd 3d Shoot will be held on May 31 due to the Roger Everitt Memorial Shoot.
TRAP (Officer Fred Guyette)
Fred noted the Winter League has started. The league will run for 10 weeks and cost a $10.00 entry fee then $4.00 per 50 bird round.
Bob Kuhn noted that the Susquehanna County League schedule is available on line and the club house. The League banquet is scheduled for Sept. 12th. The Keystone 200 banquet scheduled for May 23rd may be held at Silver Lake Rod and Gun Club. Stay tuned for verification. Bob also noted that Silver Lake Rod and Gun Club has only one County League team.
INDOOR RANGE (Officer Sam Williamson)
Sam noted that he turned in $98.00 from the range fee box.
Sam also noted that the Sporter Rifle League is now into the 17th week of 21 week league
It was also noted that there are those who are still shooting into the wood counter ledge.
GROUNDS/BUILDINGS (Officer Ron Walter)
Ron also noted that he is having trouble staying ahead of the snow plowing.
Fred noted that he has another quote for the trap lounge expansion.
SINGLE ACTION SHOOTING SPORTS (Officer Jack Revie)
Jack not in attendance. Dave Shaffer noted that they have order 80,000 bullets for reloading.
PFSC (Delegate Mike DePaola)
Mike noted that the January meeting was held at Silver Lake Rod & Gun Club. Numerous items were discussed including but not limited to the following; trout stocking, PFSC picnic, raffle tickets, coyote hunting, and other numerous legislative issues. See Mike and or Ed Smith for details. Silver Lake Rod & Gun Club dues are now due for 2015.
It was further noted that Mike is now the President of the Susquehanna County PFSC.
12- GUN RAFFLE (Chairman Karl Eschbach)
The February 2015 gun winner is none other than Ken Matthews. The winning ticket number was #32. Ken won a Savage Mod II Trophy Hunter 243 cal. w/accu trigger, synthetic stock w/ 3x9 Nikon w/ BDC .

1. Ed Smith noted that the new site up and running and is encouraging everyone to check it out.
2. The new website address is www.silverlakerodandgunclub.com.
3. Ed is requesting members to provide pictures to be included on the new website.
KITCHEN_ (Chairman Dan Hungerford)
1. Dan not present, no report.
OLD BUSINESS
Ed Smith noted that he has a price quote for new signs for SASS. Plastic signs are quite expensive. Ed will continue looking for more quotes.
NEW BUSINESS
It was noted that Silver Lake Rod and Gun Club owes PFSC dues in the amount of $473.40.
The breakdown is as follows; State $290.00, County $131.00 and Division $52.40.
Motion by Mike DePaola and 2nd by Fred Guyette to pay the dues owed. All agreed.
It was noted that Chris McComb is again requesting $500.00 for the Archery in the Schools
Program for Choconut Valley Elementary. It was also noted that we gave $500.00 to the
Montrose schools last year. After numerous discussions of how we should donate the money, Jim
Mayers proposed a motion to donate $1000.00 to the school district program to be divided up at
their discretion. Motion 2nd by Ron Walter. It was determined that ½ would come from the
Youth Account and the other ½ from the General Fund. All approved.

The February Attendance pool name drawn was Jack Revie. Jack was not in attendance and missed out on a $39.00 jackpot.
The March attendance pool will be worth $49.00.

Committee Meeting
There were twelve(12) officers and committee members in attendance. There were eleven (11) new member applications listed above and an additional new member John Shaffer (Dave’s brother). Reviewed and approved all eleven applications and the missing application as noted above.
It was determined that we need a sub-committee to review the trap lounge expansion quotes. The committee will consist of Fred Guyette, Dave Shaffer, Ron Walter and Jack Raynor.
