Silver Lake Rod & Gun Club
Regular Meeting
September 10, 2020

Called to order at 1901 by club President Jim Mayers.

The meeting opened with Pledge of Allegiance and a moment of silence for those protecting our borders and security. There were 26 members present including 10 officers and committee members. There were also 4 new applicants present.

Meeting Minutes of August, 13 2020 were read by Secretary Laura Foote with a motion made by Tom Blackman to accept report with minor documentation updates and seconded by Dave Byerly.  Motion approved unanimously

Treasurers Report of August 13, 2020 meeting was read by Lori Raub with a motion made by Jack Revie to accept report as read, seconded by Roger Marsh.  Motion approved unanimously
August – Regular Checking balance -$3,402.42
August - Discipline Savings Account balance- $9,787.13
Youth Account balance- $ 15,843.09
Savings Account balance- $7,875.44
American Funds Balance- $47,536.90
Royalty Account balance - $21.65
Total Balance                    $84,466.63

Standing Committees

Archery –
Officer Jim Mayers Jr. reported on the last shoot of the year on September 6th stating the best turnout all year with 34 shooters.
Results from September 6th have been posted to the website.
Jim turned in $352.00 (registration $307.00 and $45.00 food).
There will be no October shoot.  Pickup/end of season target cleanup and pack up will occur before the end of September.

Trap –
Fred Guyette not in attendance, report provided by Norm McPherson for August and early September

 8/17 Results
  • 9 shooters for Singles High Singles – Mike Terzo - 95
  • 5 shooters for Handicap High Handicap – Eric Lukovich 98 (received a 1 yard punch)
Money turned in – Trap – $1459.75, Skeet – 255.50 and Cans – $69.00

Indoor Pistol Range- Tom Blackman reported that range is still being used with the rubber mat getting shot up.  Will wait until later in the fall to replace.  Tom turned in $61.00.

Building and Grounds – Chairman Ron Walter was absent.  It was noted that the grass continues to be mowed.  Bob Kuhn noted thanks to Tom Oleniacz for the new sign which looks great.

Outdoor Ranges-- Chairman Jack Revie reported that it appears people are cleaning up after themselves with the range looking good.  No money was turned in (skeet money turned in with trap money).  It was noted that the cowboy range was mowed by Clark Burr.

PFSC  Chairman - Mike DePaola not in attendance with no report provided.

12 Gun Raffle – Chairman Karl Eschbach not in attendance.
September winner- Carl Schweder ticket #148 - won Mossberg Patriot Revere .270 cal LBA trigger.

Supplies – Chairwoman Reggie Raynor - not present Jack Raynor stated everything is going well with no issues.  Jack also stated last bill to Montrose Beverage will be paid.

Internet Website - Ed Smith not present no report

Kitchen - Dan Hungerford noted all is good.  All tables reported as broken at last meeting have been fixed.

Old business –
It was noted that no invoice has been received from Karl Eschbach for Silver Lake Rod and Gun Club.
As previously noted the sign out from has been replaced.
Jim Mayers noted the Peckville Skeet machines look really good however the controllers seem to be missing.  Jim Mayers to talk to the contact for these machines September 11, 2020.
It was noted that the coins previously discussed are ready to be finalized with an email review/approval prior to production.
It was noted that Bob Tucker has a couple of shooting benches that were donated by Mercedes from Bill’s estate to be used for the club.  Drainage will be looked at as the weather becomes cooler.

Sporter rifle league begins the end of September (20th).  One shooter was lost from last years team.
Dave Byerly received trophies from last years league with Raylene Coy 2nd woman shooter in PA.
Need to ensure range is available the end of September for target take down day.

New business –
An itemized list of supplies for medical kit to be reviewed/discussed prior to purchase.

Attendance Pool- Gabe Natale was drawn as the winner.  Gabe not in attendance with money being rolled to October drawing.

Adjournment- with no further business to discuss, the meeting was adjourned at 1934 on a motion by Jim Mayers Jr and 2nd by Jack Revie.  Motion approved unanimously

Committee Meeting- after regular meeting, there were 10 officers and committee members in attendance.  Dave Shaffer was called via cell phone to make quorum. The four (4) new applicants were reviewed with all unanimously voted to approve membership.
With no further business to discuss the Committee meeting was adjourned at 1940
